We love our home sweet home, West Queen West, voted the 2^nd coolest neighbourhood on the planet by Vogue Magazine. Poppies has called West Queen West home for nearly twenty years and during that time lots of new and exciting developments have gotten their start in this community. Our Art + Design District inspires creativity and innovation even during this more difficult time for small business owners. Support from within this community has been essential and we intend to pay it forward by welcoming three new friends to the neighbourhood and encouraging you to do the same.

Pizzeria Badiali

First up is the Pizzeria Badiali, located at 181 Dovercourt Road. Check out their Instagram for some truly mouth-watering shots of their thin crust New York inspired slices, using carefully sourced and homemade ingredients. Enjoy these last few days of warmer weather and dine in on their front patio, a quieter spot away from the hustle and bustle of Queen Street. Or grab a slice to go and walk on over to Trinity Bellwoods Park for an afternoon picnic. Sounds like a slice of heaven to us ;). They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 2:30-9pm with slices available daily.

Gladstone House

To this neighbour, we say welcome BACK. The Gladstone House, located at the corner of Gladstone and Queen has recently reopened for business with a reimagined take on the much loved boutique hotel while maintaining its focus on culture and art and preserving the rich history of the original building. This hotel was designed for the creative to stay, eat and drink at the bistro and bar, and explore the art of local and regional artists. Guests are immediately treated to delicious eye candy from the moment they enter, including an impressive hand-painted overhead mural in the hotel lobby and stairway gallery. Whether you have a date night approaching or are in much need of a staycation, they would be happy to welcome you and show of their new digs.

Mofer Coffee

Located right next to CAMH at 1025 Queen Street West Unit 7, Mofer Coffee is the perfect hangout spot to catch up with an old friend and enjoy a cozy afternoon. If you stop by and say hi, you can expect to be greeted by kind staff and the pleasing aroma of freshly brewed java all the way from the birthplace of coffee.
